What do you do in your position? Everything. I get to do all the difficult calibrations, and fix stuff. Temperature profiling, electronic calibration, and large surface plates to name a few.
What interested you originally to do the work that you do? I scored really well on the ASVAB (armed services vocational aptitude battery), and the military decided to put me in calibration. I’ve been doing that ever since. I love the challenges that it brings every day.
What is your favorite part of the work you do? To make the difficult look easy.
What is your favorite experience you had with a client or your favorite achievement in servicing a client? One of my favorite experiences was when a local food manufacturer was having trouble with their temperature displays. They called me in and asked me to help. They had 2 electrical engineers and 3 mechanics working on it for 3 hours and I fixed it in five minutes. They had a thermocouple wire reversed.
What are your favorite things to do when you’re not working? Spending time with my family, teaching & coaching lacrosse.
What is your favorite childhood memory? I have two – Getting my Atari 2600 for my 9th birthday, and winning my little league championship by catching a ball in the outfield that ended the game.
