Career Opportunity #1: Field Service Technician

Our current objective is to hire an additional field service technician that meets the following criteria:

  • Career minded
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude, and extremely motivated
  • 2 year electronics degree
  • Strong electronic and mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum 2 years of field service experience preferred
  • CDL with a clean driving record
  • Professional appearance, excellent communicator and problem solver
  • Willing to work long hours including some weekends both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable trouble shooting and making repairs on equipment ranging from lab balances to rail scales
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lb. grip handle cast iron test weights, one in each hand
  • Experience with hydraulic scales, belt scales, GSE and Rice Lake programming would bring tremendous value to our organization

Career Opportunity #2 : Field Calibration Technician

Garber Metrology is looking for a motivated self starter to fill a position as a Field Calibration Technician.

Position Summary: Field Calibration Technicians perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment both in our lab and at our customer’s facilities. Excellence in customer service, dedication to quality work and strict attention to detail are musts.

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the repair and calibration of physical / mechanical and dimensional equipment as well as basic electronic test equipment required.
• Experience on optical comparators and temperature devices preferred.
• Surface plate calibration experience a plus.
• Constant focus on providing outstanding customer service is a must.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to show a track record of excellent attention to detail.
• Proven skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and industry specific software.
• Capable of heavy lifting (50 to 80 pounds).
• Must be able to work as an individual and as part of a team.
• Ability to self manage time to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Need to be able to foresee possible problems and formulate a plan ‘B’ to achieve best results.
• Be able to travel on-site and overnight on an as needed basis.
